Description:
Magnesium stearate can also modify magnesium hydroxide as a surfactant. Magnesium hydroxide is a white powder, non-toxic, tasteless, and non-corrosive. It can be widely used in flame retardancy and smoke suppression of polymer materials such as polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, and unsaturated resins.
They are white, fine powder, insoluble in water. When mixed with hot, strong mineral acids, they decomposed into stearic acid and corresponding magnesium salts.They are widely used as lubricants, slipping agents, heat-stabilizers, mould releasing agents and accelerants in plastic, machinery engineering, rubbers, paints and inks industry etc.
Applications:

Magnesium stearate can interact with hydrochloric acid decomposed from PVC to prevent decomposition.
